Honourable John G. Bryden

Dear Senator Bryden:

Subject: Bill S-24

Our organizations represent those millions of Canadians for whom wise use of animals remain a way of life, and who provide important socio-economic benefits including billions of dollars annually to the Canadian economy.

We are writing to offer our congratulations and whole-hearted support for Bill S-24 (cruelty to animals amendments to the Criminal Code). We agree with the rationale you presented to your Senate colleagues when you moved second reading of Bill S-24 on February 8, 2005.

It is our collective desire that following successful passage of Bill S-24 through the Senate, that the Government of Canada would move expeditiously for its adoption by the House of Commons.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance to you on this important matter.

Respectfully Submitted,
