Community Stream Steward Program

The Community Stream Steward Program is a multi partner, project with initial funding provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Program is designed to provide sustainability for the long term as we work toward creating a province wide initiative for implementation.

Vision - to become an integral part of communities, throughout the region by establishing a secure network of dedicated individuals to improving Ontario's coldwater streams. The Community Stream Steward Program will recruit, train and support these dedicated community members with the goal of increasing awareness and restoring and protecting one of our most valuable resources.

"Recruiting, training and enabling dedicated individuals and community organizations to participate and take leadership in restoring the health of community streams"

Volunteers - a sincere thank you to all CSSP individuals who volunteer their time, labour, expertise and dedication to the many projects that would not, and could not, be completed without you. Restoring and protecting our valuable coldwater resources would not become a reality, if not for your support and commitment. Thank you!

Landowners - if not for landowners and their desire to facilitate change and improve the aquatic ecosystems on their property, the CSSP would not be the success that it has been and continues to be. Private landowners are the key to stream stewardship and if past experiences dictate the future, there will be Stream Stewards in every community and on every coldwater watercourse before too long. This is very rewarding for the CSSP and we want to thank each and every one of you for your openness, eagerness and desire to make our water healthier for all involved!

Program Partners & Affiliates

The Community Stream Steward Program is a multi-partner initiative. Without the support and dedication of our partners the CSSP would not be the viable success that it is and will continue to be. Thank you!
