The Community Stream Steward Program is fortunate to have the support of our many partners and community members who provide financial and in-kind support. However, to continue the ongoing work and success (view our annual update) we need the broader support of those in the corporate, business and residential community who share our passion for the clean, clear and abundant streams and rivers that both sustain and enhance our lives. In Memoriam and Special Occasion Gifts

A donation to the Community Stream Steward Program is a wonderful way to celebrate the birth of a child, a wedding, an anniversary or remember the life of a loved one. Through the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, individuals or groups have the opportunity to make a tax-deductible donation directly to the Community Stream Steward Program and to assist in the success of a variety of stream restoration and protection projects across southern Ontario.

For memorial donations the family or friends of their loved one also receive a letter of appreciation informing them that a donation has been received for the Community Stream Steward Program in memory of their loved one.

Planned Giving

Gifts of Securities

A method of giving for those donors who wish to make a contribution to the Community Stream Steward Program, see the result of their donation first hand, and receive current tax benefits. The government has removed the capital gains tax on appreciated securities providing donors the opportunity to transfer gifts of securities to the Community Stream Steward Program and benefit from a tax perspective. Donors still receive a charitable receipt for the full value of their gift. This method of giving serves as a great incentive for giving to the Community Stream Steward Program and creating positive change to the quality and quantity of our waterways.

Wills/Bequests

Many donors elect to provide a gift in their will of either a fixed monetary amount, or a percentage of their estate. The biggest benefit of making a bequest to the Community Stream Steward Program is that it costs nothing during the lifetime of the donor, while potentially providing a larger deferred gift than may otherwise be possible, and contributing to the safe and healthy waterways for generations to come.

Gifts-in-Kind

Many donors and supporters provide gifts of in-kind to the Community Stream Steward Program whether they be of goods or services in nature. Donors of in-kind goods or services receive a charitable receipt as outlined in the Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines. Please check our wish list for ideas on items and services that would significantly help the Community Stream Steward Program with achieving our mission. If a donor would like to provide a gift that is not on our wish list please contact us.

Corporate Donations

The Community Stream Steward Program provides opportunity for corporations and businesses to donate towards the implementation of stream and river restoration work within the communities in which they operate or offer services to the public. This is a great opportunity for those who have identified the environment as a focus and for those who have social responsibility to the environment.

Foundations

For those foundations that are tasked with distributing funds for donors interested in the environment, the Community Stream Steward Program provides opportunity to effectively and efficiently utilize these funds in stream and river protection and restoration. The Community Stream Steward Program has delivered many results over the years and will continue to have a positive impact on Ontario’s waterways with the assistance of donors interested in the environment.
