Fisheries Management
On behalf of its members, the OFAH works tirelessly and effectively to ensure that decisions made at all levels of government help protect and conserve our fisheries resources, while providing enjoyment and sustainable benefits for all.
Examples of OFAH involvement in fisheries management:
- Providing OFAH input to fisheries policy, legislation and regulation proposals and decisions (i.e. EBR)
- Providing representation on Fisheries Management Zone (FMZ) Councils across the province
- Stocking efforts by OFAH clubs
- Funding research studies
- Funding student research grants
- Establishing OFAH policies through the OFAH Fisheries Advisory Committee
- Representing anglers on committees at regional, provincial and national level
- Informing and engaging members and other anglers so their voices can be heard
