Great Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program
Volunteer Orientation & Training Session
Bird Studies Canada and Lambton Shores Phragmites Community Group, with support
from Environment and Climate Change Canada, are working to expand the Great
Lakes Marsh Monitoring Program in the Lambton Shores area.
We are seeking volunteers to be trained to monitor frogs and/or birds and who are
willing to spend about 10 hours per year monitoring our local wetlands. Prior
experience is not necessary. You can be part of the hundreds of volunteer Citizen
Scientists throughout the Great Lakes basin of Ontario and the United States.
Learn the techniques used in the nationally recognized Great Lakes Marsh
Monitoring Program from the folks who coordinate it.
Help advance the study and protection of marshes in OUR watershed.
Contribute to understanding the effectiveness of invasive plant control for
conserving local populations of threatened marsh birds and other wildlife.
