City of Thorold Discharge of Firearms By-Law Submission Letter

Please find attached the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH)
submission letter to be included in tonight’s council meeting package.

As you will read in our letter, the OFAH have serious concerns about how
this by-law is written.  We would recommend that this issue be deferred to
allow for proper stakeholder input into a draft by-law that is succinct with
provincial and federal rules and regulations currently in place and
enforced, that doesn’t overly restrictive legal, lawful, law-abiding
hunters, trappers and recreational shooters, while being mindful of
council’s wishes to maintain public safety.
