TackleShare is coming to Peterborough on April 28

Fishing instruction at the Peterborough Greenwing Fishing Derby

Whether you’re eager to drop a line in the water for the first time, or don’t have your own fishing equipment, the OFAH/OPG TackleShare program has you covered.

Head over to Peterborough Greenwing Fishing Derby at the Peterborough Lift Lock this weekend, as the TackleShare crew will be on site to deliver an interactive educational workshop, which includes introductory fishing instruction and lessons on aquatic habitat, conservation, and water safety.

What: Local media are invited to attend the day’s event, which will feature fantastic photo and video opportunities of youth learning to fish for the first time, guided by qualified instructors eager to pass on their passion for fishing and conservation.

Where: EASY TO FIND – 353 Hunter St E, Peterborough, ON

TackleShare loans fishing equipment to the public at more than 140 loaner sites across Ontario, and brings the equipment and hands-on excitement to a variety of events in different locations throughout the summer. TackleShare is designed to break down the barriers that prevent new and young anglers from getting out on the water and enjoying the excitement of fishing.
