City of Clarence-Rockland – Discharge of Firearms Bylaw revision

Please be advised that on Monday, August 13, the City of Clarence-Rockland will be hosting a Committee of the Whole meeting where they will be discussing a revised draft Discharge of Firearms Bylaw.  The meeting will start at 8:00 p.m. in council chambers located at 415 Lemay Street in Clarence Creek.

We would appreciate and welcome any OFAH members, fellow hunters, trappers, and/or recreational shooters who would be able to attend the meeting.  If we do not show enough support or provide further input, it could result in an expanded area where the discharge of firearms will be prohibited.  That would mean a loss of hunting, trapping, and/or recreational shooting opportunities for all.

The OFAH has already communicated with city staff, and submitting a list of comments and concerns with how the bylaw is currently written, but they still need to hear your concerns.

The proposed bylaw can be found at http://www.clarence-rockland.com/index.php/en/residents/public-notices.

If you are unable to attend and have specific questions (or comments) about the bylaw, and would still like and have your voice heard, please send an email to Monique Quellet, city clerk for the City of Clarence-Rockland at mouellet@clarence-rockland.com.

We would also respectfully ask that you copy OFAH head office on your email at brian_mcrae@ofah.org (Brian McRae, zone/member & club services liaison).

We appreciate your support and assistance on this matter.
