Town of Kingsville Meeting – Sept. 24 – Duck blinds, waterfowl jurisdiction and Discharge of Firearms By-Law 10-2004

Please be advised that on Monday, September 24, the Town of Kingsville will host a council meeting to discuss the topic of ‘Duck Blinds’, waterfowl jurisdiction and how the two correlate with their Discharge of Firearms By-law. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. in council chambers, located at 2021 Division Road N., Kingsville, Ontario.

Staff will be presenting a report (links below for your convenience) where they confirm OFAH’s input and stance that the Town has no jurisdiction to regulate waterfowl hunting out on Lake Erie except in those rare locations/exceptions where water lots are owned.

We would encourage any OFAH members and/or fellow hunters to attend the meeting to show their support.

The OFAH has been actively involved in discussions with the Town of Kingsville since 2017 on this matter and we wish to thank all of those individuals who voiced their concerns to us. We greatly appreciated your input.

If you are unable to attend this meeting but have specific questions or comments, please email Jennifer Astrologo, Director of Corporate Services/Clerk for the Town of Kingsville at jastrologo@kingsville.ca.

We would also respectfully ask that you copy OFAH head office on your email at brian_mcrae@ofah.org (Brian McRae, zone/member & club services liaison).

We appreciate your support and assistance on this matter.
