Ask a CO: Tag responsibility

A reader asks who is directly responsible for placing a tag on a harvested animal when it comes to party hunting.

Q: Who is responsible for placing a tag on a harvested animal, the individual who killed it or the member of the hunting party that holds the tag?

Peter Armour, Keene

A: The tag holder is directly responsible for either staying with the animal with the tag, or ensuring that the tag is placed on the animal if they leave it.
