2016 Hunt Camp and Individual Hunter Surveys

Dear Hunters :

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has mailed you the Hunt Camp Survey in the past, however they have decided not to do this in the future. The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) Zone F feels that it is important that hunters have an opportunity to report on their deer hunt, provide comments and suggestions and receive a summary of the results. Therefore the zone has decided to send out our own Hunt Group and Individual Surveys in order to collect this information, summarize it, and have it available for everyone’s use.

Hunters are excellent observers of wildlife. Hunting activity and hunting group reports collect the observations of hunters and this pool of data helps all of us manage to plan for the future.
We will count on the information collected by hunters to:
monitor and assess wildlife populations

  • suggest harvest quotas and game seals
  • propose hunting regulation changes, such as seasons and tag allocations
  • track wildlife population trends
  • provide information on other species
  • shape our discussions on wildlife management policies

Please find attached a Hunt Group Survey that we ask you to fill out and return. New this year , in addition to the 2 week gun season we’re looking for feed back from Individual Bow and Muzzle Loader hunters . This is strictly voluntary, however, as hunters, we are hoping that you take a few minutes and send this information back to us for the betterment of our hunting future.
