A Barrie angler has landed his second Ontario record fish. Paul Tshesnokow caught a 5.85-pound white sucker, using a worm as bait, on the Beaver River in Beaverton on April 12, 2025. It was 23.75 inches long and 13.5 inches in girth. He was intentionally targeting white suckers, having almost caught the Ontario record last year.
The previous record was 5.39 pounds, 22.8 inches long, and 23.3 inches in girth.
Tshesnokow is also the record holder for the largest Ontario quillback, which weighed 6.01-pounds and was 22-inches long and 15.75 inches in girth. He caught that fish in Port Severn.
