Longtime Shimano North America Fishing President Dave Pfeiffer will step down from the role effective March 31, 2026.

Longtime Shimano North America Fishing President Dave Pfeiffer will step down from the role effective March 31, the Charleston, South Carolina-based division of the global manufacturer announced on Monday, Jan. 5.

Pfeiffer will transition into a new role as vice chairman, executive advisor, and lead for industry advocacy, continuing to support the organization and the broader fishing community, the company stated. 

He will be replaced on April 1 by current senior vice president Jason Livermore. He brings more than 24 years of experience in the outdoor, and sporting goods industries with expertise in go-to-market strategy, forecasting and demand planning, cross-functional collaboration, and business integrations.

Shimano leadership lauded

Pfeiffer’s 38-year career with Shimano includes roles in sales, marketing, product planning, strategic development, and executive leadership. 

As both a respected business leader and passionate angler, he has become widely recognized throughout the outdoor industry for his vision, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to the sport, the company stated.

“Working for my entire career with Shimano has been the greatest honor,” Pfeiffer stated. “Shimano represents the highest quality products and business standards, which have guided my career and leadership of the fishing business. It truly has been a dream to combine my passion for fishing with my life’s work at Shimano. I will cherish the people I have worked with and my colleagues throughout the industry. My sincere thanks to everyone who has supported and guided me over all these years.”
