UPDATE on Fishing & Hunting COVID-19 Closures

UPDATE on Fishing & Hunting COVID-19 Closures

Last week the OFAH launched a website to track COVID-19-related closures and restrictions to hunting and fishing opportunities across Ontario.

While the provincial government recently announced a prohibition on Crown land camping, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) has not made any blanket changes to fishing and hunting in Ontario.

However, as each day passes, access to many areas used by anglers and hunters has been either closed or restricted, including conservation areas, provincial parks, county forests, trails, national wildlife areas, national parks, and public boat launches.

The OFAH continues to update the webpage with information on these closures/restrictions as we learn about them, so please take a minute to check the link above and review the updates posted over the last few days. The list will continue to be updated on a daily basis.

Please send information you have with confirmation on any closures or restrictions in your area not listed on the site to fwintern@ofah.org and we’ll add them to the site.

Thank you and stay safe.
