Q: When I purchased my moose licence, I did not get anything to print other than the Licence Summary. Is this all I am required to carry with me, or am I missing a piece of additional paper?
Jack Yard, Schumacher
A: Besides your licence, you'll also need a moose tag. If you were not successful in obtaining a moose tag, you have to be hunting in a party with at least one other person with a valid moose tag. In that case, all you are required to carry while moose hunting is your outdoors card and licence summary showing the moose licence, plus whatever firearms accreditation you may need.
If you are hunting with a bow, you need to carry your Outdoors Card and licence summary only. If you are hunting with a gun and have a valid firearms licence, you need to carry your Outdoors Card, licence summary, and firearms licence.
However if you are hunting with a gun with proof of being able to obtain a firearms licence, for example your proof of having successfully completed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and exam, then you need to carry your outdoors card, licence summary, and proof of being able to obtain a firearms licence and be hunting under the immediate supervision of a licensed moose hunter who has a valid firearms licence. Only one gun is allowed between you.
