As an Ontario Out of Doors reader, you’re already taking a serious interest in Ontario’s outdoors. If you’re a part of OFAH Membership too, then you could be on our next board of directors.
The OFAH is a member-driven organization and Ontario is a big province. We need to continue to hear the voice of outdoors people from every corner of the province, and with a passion for every type of outdoors activity. Whether you are young or old, new to Canada, or with deep roots, we need your voice at the decision-making table.
To help manage the size of the province, OFAH Membership has the province broken down into zones, which serve as regional hubs to connect members with the organization and to address outdoor issues relevant to their geographic area.
• Zone Representative Directors – Normally the sitting Zone Chair or the Vice Chair, can be anyone from within the zone, and nominated by the Zone Executive.
• Zone Directors – Someone with special interests, great enthusiasm for our outdoors, and nominated by members.
• Directors-At-Large – Someone who brings specialized skills and knowledge to the board and is nominated by members.
To be eligible, you must be at least 18 years old and need to have been an OFAH member for at least 12 months. Beyond that, what is important is your passion for conservation in Ontario.
What’s in it for me, you ask? Everyone has their reasons for becoming a director. You could be a younger person looking to meet other conservation-minded individuals, or someone entering retirement, with a lifetime of outdoor knowledge to share. Regardless of where you are from, we need people like you on the OFAH Membership Board of Directors, and your opportunity is almost here.
Director elections will be held in March 2026. Stay tuned for more details.
