When you think about the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, it’s easy to picture the big things we do — advocacy, creating fishing and hunting opportunities, and providing members with tools and benefits that make their lives easier. At the core of who we are, however, lies something equally important — people. And our people, our members, are organized into geographic zones.
While zone operations have slowed, and even paused during bifurcation, we’re getting back on track and building things stronger than ever. With a focused mandate, we are determined to make sure our members understand the importance of what happens at the grassroots level. Our zones are where members see the OFAH come to life close to home.
They’re where the conversations about local challenges and opportunities happen. We want to ensure our members are more engaged. A big part of that is the development of a new communication strategy. You’ll soon notice more zone updates being shared through OFAH social media channels, e-newsletters, and a new series of zone websites that build off the hub we’ve already created but takes it to the next level with zone-specific content. This new approach will integrate and amplify zone news, events, and opportunities so that every member, no matter where they live, can see and celebrate the amazing work happening in communities across the province.
On behalf of the OFAH, I want to thank every volunteer who gives their time and energy to make it all happen.

A new interactive map is now live, offering a valuable tool for member clubs and zones to connect and engage. The map allows individuals to easily find clubs in their area, see which ones are accepting new members, and connect with the outdoors community. It’s a great way for clubs to increase visibility within their zones, build stronger local networks, and enhance overall community engagement.
The map is an opt-in system, so if your club is not yet listed, please have a club official reach out directly at www.ofah.org/contact-us to get included and help grow the collective impact of the OFAH Membership network.
