Tool to solve natural-resource violations

The MNR has created another way for the public to help solve natural-resource violations — and this time it’s online.

The MNRF has created another way for the public to help solve natural-resource violations — and this time it’s online.

The “Solve a natural resource case” web page can be found at:
www.ontario.ca/page/solve-natural-resource-case
Visitors to that page can access a provincial map that has pins on the location of current unsolved cases. A click on a pin brings up details of the offence and other relevant information.

The page also tells visitors how to report a violation, submit a tip, or contact the MNRF TIPS line or Crime Stoppers.

MNRF enforcement staff are hoping this tool will make it easier for the public to provide tips and information regarding natural-resource violations such as poaching, unlawful night hunting, shooting from a roadway, out-of-season fishing or hunting, the illegal sale of species, taking more fish and game than is allowed, dumping waste on Crown land, illegal removal of sand, gravel, or wood from public lands, having fires in restricted zones without a permit, and illegal activities in provincial parks and protected areas.
