Ask a CO: On leaving decoys

A reader asks is it illegal to leave decoys in a field on private land after an evening hunt to use again the next morning?

Q: I was told it is illegal to leave decoys in a field while not hunting, such as leaving them out after an evening hunt for the next morning, on private property. Is this true?

Jim Waslowski, Victoria Harbour

A: There are no rules about placing decoys or leaving decoys out overnight, as long as the occupier of the property is okay with it.
