Wild Pigs Canada website launched

Wild Pigs Canada promotes awareness and the impact on the environment, agricultural and economic costs, and potential to spread diseases.

Canada’s Invasive Wild Pig Leadership Group (WPLG), a coalition of government, commercial, conservation, and Indigenous groups, including the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, has launched a Wild Pigs Canada website.

The site promotes awareness of wild pigs and their impact on the environment, agricultural and economic costs, and potential to spread diseases. The site’s pages include nation-wide contact details for reporting, information on identifying a wild pig, and strategies to control their spread. The objectives of the WPLG, as well as provincial and territorial legislation regarding wild pigs, are also detailed.

In the future, maps detailing locations of wild pig populations will be added.
