What is the OFAH–Avenir Energy partnership?
OFAH Membership has partnered with Avenir Energy to offer our members exclusive access to discounted propane pricing and energy solutions through a new affinity program and represents one more way your membership delivers value — at home, at the cottage, or at the camp.
Who is Avenir Energy?
Avenir Energy is Canada’s trusted local propane supplier offering safe, reliable propane delivery and excellent customer service. They service both residential and commercial customers nationwide through their network of local branches, including 11 here in Ontario. Avenir’s employees are members of the communities they serve, and many are OFAH members too.
What benefits do OFAH members receive?
As an OFAH member, you gain access to:

How much are the average savings for an OFAH member?
The discount for OFAH members will be six cents off per litre and based on volume of usage. So for example, the average customer with an annual consumption of 2,500 litres of propane would save $150.00 annually on their propane heating costs. That more than covers the cost of your OFAH Membership.
Are their any other savings OFAH members could be in line for?
Yes. OFAH members may also be eligible for additional one-time savings through other Avenir promotions (e.g., new customer ‘switch and save’ incentives. Learn more about those potential savings at www.avenirenergy.ca/switchandsave.
Who is eligible?
All active OFAH members are eligible. Whether you’re a homeowner, small business owner, or farmer, if you use propane and live within Avenir’s service area, you can benefit and save money in this program.

Do I need to provide proof of OFAH membership?
Yes. To access the exclusive rates, you will need to confirm your active OFAH membership. You may be asked to provide your membership number or a copy of your membership card.

What if I’m currently under contract with another propane provider?
Avenir Energy can help you review your current agreement and determine the best time to switch. In many cases, they’ll coordinate a smooth transition to avoid penalties or service interruptions.
Is there a cost to switch?
No, provided your existing tank location meets installation codes. Avenir Energy covers the cost of tank removal and replacement, along with any required inspections. They handle the logistics to make your switch simple.
What happens to my existing propane tank and any propane I’ve already paid for?
That’s a great question! Avenir has provide an outline for how that typically works:
- Existing Tank: If your current tank is owned by your propane provider, Avenir Energy will coordinate its safe removal and replace it with their own tank at no cost to you.
- Prepaid or Remaining Propane: If you’ve already paid for propane or have propane remaining in your old provider’s tank, you may be eligible for a refund based on their terms and conditions. Customers with a 420-pound tank would be refunded by their previous supplier for the propane left in the tank. Customers with a 330-gallon horizontal tank or above would have the product transferred into their new Avenir tank. Avenir will assist you in navigating that process.
- Owned Tanks: If you own your current tank, Avenir may be able to use it — depending on safety and compliance standards. They’ll inspect it as part of their free site assessment.
