OFAH Makes Key Recommendations for the 2026 Ontario Budget
As part of the 2026 Ontario Pre-Budget Consultations, OFAH Membership has made a series of recommendations to improve access to the outdoors, enhance our fishing, hunting, and trapping heritage, and amplify the economic contributions of these sectors while ensuring the health of our natural resources.
Ontario is home to 37 per cent of all Canadian anglers (approximately 1.1 million individuals) and 33 per cent of all Canadian hunters (approximately 426,000 individuals). These participants drive demand across a broad range of industries, including retail, manufacturing (such as transportation equipment and metal products), and services like accommodation and food. By supporting these sectors, the government can maintain and increase the economic activity that provides thousands of jobs and billions in income throughout the provincial economy.
