O.F.A.H. & Toronto Sportsmen’s Show presents record-setting Get Outdoors event for over 15,000 kids

Today, as the doors open on the 60th Anniversary Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) will welcome over 15,000 kids for the biggest, most dynamic indoor-outdoors youth event in Canada. It is a record-setting achievement for O.F.A.H. Get Outdoors, Ontario’s leading youth conservation and leadership program.

“Where else will your family find half a million square feet of outdoor adventure all under one roof? The O.F.A.H. is proud to work with the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show and all of its partners to help provide another outlet for kids’ inherent fascination for the great outdoors,” said O.F.A.H. Executive Director, Mike Reader.

Every child that attends this year’s Toronto Sportsmen’s Show will receive an O.F.A.H. Get Outdoors Passport that will guide them through over 500,000 square feet of outdoor adventure, including archery, fishing, casting, rock climbing, a Lazer Shot hunting simulator, dogs shows, fishing seminars, as well as FiddleSong, a special musical presentation by the talented Anne Lederman and Conrad Kipping.

As part of this O.F.A.H. Get Outdoors youth event, Shimano Canada is presenting Oceans Wild. Hailed as “educational entertainment,” Oceans Wild is a fully interactive presentation that features a 65-foot inflatable whale that kids will actually walk through and learn about these magnificent mammals and the marine environment.

Kids and parents will also have the chance to meet players from the Toronto Argonauts, and cheerleaders from the Blue Thunder Dance Team. Completion of the Get Outdoors Passport earns children a scratch and win ticket (printed courtesy of Outdoor Canada) guaranteed to win a prize from O.F.A.H. Get Outdoors Kids’ Zone sponsors, including Yamaha, Rapala, Le Baron, Kodak, Hawaiian Tropic, and Pizza Pizza.
