The OAA represents Ontario’s thriving farmed seafood industry. Worldwide, aquaculture is the fastest-growing food production sector and provides over half of the fish we eat on the planet. Here in Ontario, farming trout, shrimp, tilapia, and other food fish continues to be an important employer and economic driver, including in many rural, remote, and Indigenous communities. Ontario seafood farmers produce more than 100 million servings of nutritious, delicious, and sustainable protein every year.
