Whether you are eager to drop a line in the water and try fishing for the first time, or you don’t have access to the equipment needed to enjoy fishing, the OFAH/OPG TackleShare Program has you covered.

Head over to HH Knoll Lakeview Park this weekend, as the TackleShare crew will be on site with everything anglers need to cast a line, including rods, reels, tackle and bait. What: Local media are invited to attend the day’s event, which will feature some fantastic photo and video opportunities highlighting youth learning to fish for the first time, guided by qualified instructors who are eager to pass on their passion for fishing and conservation.

TackleShare is an initiative of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) and is proudly supported by Ontario Power Generation (OPG). Visit www.tackleshare.com for details.

TackleShare loans fishing equipment to the public at more than 140 loaner sites across Ontario, and brings the equipment and hands-on excitement to a variety of events in different locations throughout the summer. TackleShare is designed to break down the barriers that prevent new and young anglers from getting out on the water and enjoying the excitement of fishing. Follow TackleShare on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

OPG is Ontario’s largest, clean electricity provider, and proud title sponsor of the TackleShare program. Water at any of OPG’s 66 hydroelectric stations and 241 dams can become dangerous in seconds. Remember to stay clear and stay safe of hydro dams and stations. Visit www.opg.com/watersafety  for more information.

With more than 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 740 member clubs, the OFAH is the largest non-profit, fish and wildlife conservation-based organization in Ontario. For more information, visit www.ofah.org.
